about

Fr. Greg Ihm

Chaplain

“I’m grateful to be a priest, and I love loving people with the heart of Jesus as best I can.”

St. Ambrose is extraordinarily blessed to have Fr. Greg Ihm as our school chaplain. Fr. Greg visits the school weekly and spends the entire day at St. Ambrose, beginning with saying Mass, meeting with students individually, and providing spiritual direction to those students interested and prepared to take that next step in their spiritual life. Fr. Greg looks forward to getting to know the students better and collaborating with faculty and staff to continue to integrate the spiritual and liturgical life into the students’ school experience so that they can come to know and encounter the Lord.

Fr. Greg also serves as vocations director and master of ceremonies for the Diocese of Madison and is a member of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre. Previously, he was chaplain for Camp Gray and parochial vicar at St. John the Baptist in Waunakee and St. Mary’s in Westport. Fr. Greg has a license in liturgical theology from Santa Croce and a master’s in theology from the Angelicum in Rome, while in major seminary at the Pontifical North American College. Prior to this, he attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, MN and received a bachelor’s in philosophy from St. Mary’s University in Winona.

In his free time, Fr. Greg enjoys unwinding by helping out on his parents’ farm. He also loves spending time outside, whether it’s camping, canoeing, skiing, or playing basketball, as well as woodworking.
